Extu Employees and Clients Donate Reward Points to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)

What feels even better than spending reward points on yourself? Spending them on an important cause! This year, Incentive Solutions (Extu) employees and clients did just that. By making a charitable donation option available in our online rewards catalog, we allowed points program participants to spend points on Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta (CHOA)’s annual Distinguished Clown Corps fundraiser.

CHOA, Georgia’s leading pediatric healthcare provider for children with complex childhood illnesses, managed almost 1 million patient visits and 40,000 surgical procedures in 2020. In order to raise money to fund the hospital’s top-notch care and bring joy to the children and families of Atlanta, local businesses have traditionally sponsored the Children’s Christmas Parade. The Distinguished Clown Corps has been part of the Children’s Christmas Parade since 1991, featuring Atlanta business leaders and executives decked out in their colorful clown personas, handing out gifts and putting smiles on the faces of children.

Incentive Solutions (Extu) CEO Mark Herbert has proudly been a Distinguished Clown Corps since 2010. Although the Children’s Christmas Parade has been cancelled for the past two years due to COVID-19, CHOA still relies in part on donations from the local Atlanta business community in order to continue giving patients the best possible care.

“This year, we set out with a goal of $1500 and asked both clients and employees to donate from their reward point balance,” Mark says. “We exceeded our goal by 16.94%, with $1754 donated in total.”

The Distinguished Clowns may not be marching this year, but the spirit of good will and community support is still alive and well! Thank you to all who participated in this year’s Distinguished Clown Corps fundraiser, investing in the future of Atlanta and allowing CHOA to provide a higher quality of care for children.
