Company after company are striving to revamp, revise, enhance, or expand existing channel partner programs and Acer America, a U.S. computer electronics and technology company, is among them. The company just announced the expansion of its Acer Channel Excellence (ACE) Program.
Vice president of commercial sales and marketing Gregg Prendergast explained, “These ACE program enhancements further reinforce our commitment to an exclusively indirect sales model, and give our channel partners even more ways to succeed while delivering superior customer solutions.” He added that the program was expanded to handle a greater number of qualified resellers, as well as being extended to VARs [value-added resellers] that will now be able to sell the company’s storage and server products. Other added features include enhanced discounts, innovative promotional options for partners, and an improved online portal for information and updates.
In addition, channel partners are afforded extended program benefits that include the opportunity to sell Acer’s newly released storage and server products. Along with this, qualified VARs (around 300) that attain yearly sales objectives also now have the opportunity to increase revenue and obtain enhanced sales support through new features.
If this were not enough, the enhanced program also affords VARs “front-end preferred pricing, including a 5 percent instant rebate on Acer’s new server and storage products.” There is also a 2 percent instant rebate on tablets, projectors, accessories, notebooks, and desktops, as well as extended warranties. To further enhance the VARs potential profit margin, channel incentives were initiated and there is an increase in “demo system and evaluation unit discounts.”
Streamlining processes, enhancements were also made to the program’s partner portal. VARs are afforded access to broader range of sales features, including: documentation and technical white papers, support tools, free custom collateral, and price books.
In regard to the remaining aspects of the program, every authorized reseller within the program will still be able to get increased support and engagement from the company’s field personnel and product marketing department, The resellers will also receive top-level inside sales support through a direct authorized reseller 800 number with unique PIN numbers; this feature will put the reseller at the top of the call-in queue.
The ACE program was implemented two years ago and steadily moves forward as a company completely committed to its partner channel – it remains the only top-ranked PC manufacturer that does not compete with an in-house sales force.
