When in Scotland...

… Speak like a Scot! A major player in the carpet cushion manufacturing industry wanted to reward 145 of its top customers with the incentive travel trip of a lifetime. Incentive Solutions Director of Travel Services, Deven Crane, was up for the task – even if it meant learning new ways to say the word “sweater.” “A program of this nature,” says Deven Crane, “has many wheels turning in many locations at the same time, but we were ready for the challenge.” The travelers moved from Edinburgh to Loch Ness (where they searched for the famous creature of lore) and ended their journey at St. Andrews, home of the world’s most sought-after golf course. In each city, the group picked up Scottish slang and sayings. Here’s a taste of what they heard:
  • A barrel of giggles – lots of laughs
  • Jumper – sweater
  • Zip wire – zip lining
  • Akilli – dance or party
  • Hast ye back – hurry back
  • Balloon – someone who’s full of hot air
  • Tidy – fantastic, outrageous or lovely

Much deserved applause for this quarter’s Star Employee, Billy Shida! Between balancing our books and earning his CPA (congratulations!), Billy has been very busy this quarter, but never too busy to help out a fellow coworker. “I saw an effort coming and said to myself ‘I can’t do this without Billy,’” says Scott Bedora, CFO at Incentive Solutions, “We thought we were done with a transaction one Thursday. Turns out we weren’t. Billy emailed me almost every hour that weekend and got it done. He shows an attitude of continuous learning, embodies every one of our company values and makes my life easier. That’s the kind of support Billy gives me and I appreciate it.” Three cheers for Billy taking it personally, acting now and doing the right thing. Thank you for your hard work and dedication, Billy!

Stevie Busch Marketing and Communications SpecialistStevie was born and raised in Cumming, GA, and wouldn’t leave the Peach State for a million dollars. She graduated from the University of West Georgia with a degree in Mass Communications, Public Relations and Marketing. Stevie worked as a Client Services Manager before arriving at Incentive Solutions as our new Marketing and Communications Specialist. Recently engaged to the coolest guy ever, Stevie is a pizza-loving foodie with 13 years of figure skating (nice!) under her belt. Glad to have you on board, Stevie!
