Informatica Introduces Its First Channel Partner Initiative

by: Nichole Gunn August 1, 2011

Informatica, a data integration software provider that enables businesses to achieve a competitive edge, just reported that it implemented its first channel partner initiative, INFORM Channel Program. The program is designed to provide service to authorized value-added resellers on a global basis.

Features of the program will allow for a tactical association with resellers through special access to Informatica’s in-house sales resources, which include demand generation and enablement, geared to help boost revenue potential. New infrastructures also include a self-service platform to streamline partner training and certification processes.

The company’s senior vice president of alliances Harry Gould was quoted saying, “The need for comprehensive data integration solutions has never been so vast or urgent." The new program will enable channel partners to establish competitive and affordable solutions packages that will successfully address their markets' data quality and integration obstacles. Gould added that the company is committed to bringing partners to the needed level of “differentiating, selling and delivering the Informatica Platform."

The more than 4,300 Informatica partners will be afforded a number of channel incentives. The incentives include: pre-sales and initiation training, quick-time field engagement via Informatica Sales Champions, and priority access to specific product sales.

In addition, partners that become certified by Informatica, depending on the certification level (bronze, silver, or gold), will be entitled to offer customers the various platforms.

To support partners in the engagement of demand-generation activities and joint marketing in alliance with Informatica, there are focused channel development monies for training, professional services, and marketing. Involvement in worldwide company events are also afforded to program partners. One such opportunity is sponsoring Informatica World 2012, the company’s yearly global customer conference, scheduled to be held in Las Vegas.

The company also recently introduced a heavy hitter to its program, the Big Data Mall. This feature is an online Informatica marketplace in which a variety of focused “malls” are grouped for specialized market needs. These needs might include productivity tools, cloud integration, and/or debugging.

Data integration developers and users can surf the Big Data Mall for information such as transactional data analytics solutions and transactional data processing.
