D-Link Initiates New Channel Program to Help Partners

by: Nichole Gunn October 13, 2010

Launching new products, including a brand new line of chassis switches, D-Link initiated an innovative channel program that is specifically designed to afford help and guidance in the use of the new items by its partners. ChannelWeb took note of the announcement early this year at Interop Las Vegas 2010.

D-Link’s North American president, Nick Tidd, wants it to be known that the company will be moving beyond the midmarket. Strategies implementing SMB and SOHO will help them to move onward and upward.

Moving into a new market, the VIP (Value in Partnership) Partner Program will provide partners with the needed advantage to compete with veteran enterprise market competitors. Tidd explained to ChannelWeb that the program will reward partners who jump on board with D-Link; the partners will be expected to help promote the company’s “value-consciousness.”

Tidd went on to state that D-Link wants an "understanding of how can our partners a) make money and b) be profitable selling our solutions". He is confident the VIP incentive program will ensure success.

Partners in the VIP program will be afforded on-demand training and development tools. Along with this, ChannelWeb reported that D-Link launched two new certifications to acknowledge partners that become experts in sales and technology. The program also includes deal registration, business collaboration, and bounty rewards, which offer a percentage of the registered deal.

Along with the ground breaking line of chassis switches, D-Link introduced “a new unified switch and access point combination networking solution.” This technology is geared toward mid to large enterprises and service provides; it was created to optimize network performance.
