Centier Bank claims its first ever ‘state championship’

Centier Bank President and CEO Mike Schrage’s lifelong dream has always been to lead a winning team to a victory. Although Scharge is no coach for any collegiate or professional level sports team, he is the coach of Centier Bank - family-owned and operated - which was recently named the #1 Best Place to Work in Indiana. What better way to celebrate leading his winning team to a victory than with all 700 players--the Centier Bank employees.

CentierNews reports that Schrage, together with senior managers and members of all departments, celebrated Centier's victory by parading through the bank's 44 locations in Lake, Porter, La Porte, and Marshall Counties on a yellow school bus.

“We liken this to a homecoming after winning a state championship,” stated Schrage.  “This team effort was made possible by each and every Centier associate, and I wanted a way to surprise them and personally thank them for this achievement.”

So how does a family-owned and operated bank score such an unbelievable win? Centier Bank is said to be a bank that is committed to its employees, sense of family and annual incentive and recognition programs. In addition, the company boasts a wellness program featuring excellent employee facilities, including a gym and a cafeteria with healthy food choices.

“I may not have become a professional coach, but I have certainly made a career of leading a winning team,” Schrage said.
