Vam Meter Industrial has earned a spot in Inc. Magazine’s top 20 Top Small Company Workplaces. The winners were selected out of 500 competitors. Applicants were drawn across a broad spectrum of industries to include privately held and nonprofit organizations.

In the June edition of Inc. magazine, Editor-in-Chief, Jane Berentson, says that the 20 finalists all demonstrated “smart management and enlightened leadership.”

An article in the Quad-City Business Journal stresses the importance of Van Meter’s employee loyalty programs, such as its wellness incentive program, which is what helped the company stand out.

Pinpointing the industry’s work practices, the paper explains the Van Meter Industrial program that encourages staff to make small changes in work habits to improve processes as well as incentives such as stock ownership and performance bonuses - this, Quad-City notes, is the reason Van Meter Industrial has consistently ranked in the upper quartile in performance of financial measurements, as well as earned a spot on Inc.’s top 20 list.

Overall the winners of the competition were able to present an outstanding and clear vision, mission, and values; even when having to endure the abrupt changes of the recession.
