A recent survey of Canadian small business owners by Leger Marketing and HR Learning revealed that they, like their counterparts in the U.S., are concerned about the recruiting process as they search for good employees.
In the study, nearly half of the Canadian entrepreneurs polled believe that the key to improving their businesses was in the hiring competent staff. In light of a struggling economy, the growth of a small business is not only dependent upon putting the right people into place, but also retaining those employees. Many business owners have discovered that by providing employee recognition programs that attract new job seekers, their retention rates have vastly improved as well.
Follow up results show that at least a quarter of the business managers interviewed are currently making decisions to initiate reward programs for their employees to begin in the very near future.
